Letters to the Editor September 2018

Traditionally newspapers around the world have published letters received from readers with their opinions about a variety of subjects. Hua Hin Today often receives emails from our readers or comments posted on Facebook pages.

Thanks for your contributions! Our readers are always encouraged to provide a point of view however we ignore aggressive, abusive or defamatory comments. editor@huahintoday.com Pedestrian Overpass “I’m really pleased to see that the pedestrian overpass outside Market Village is now keeping those crossing the road safe and even though the white markings can still be clearly seen, driving along this part of Phetchakasim Road is now free of ‘traffic dodgers’!

Next outside Blúport please without the traffic attendants trying to entice me to drive through the red light.” Eric

To me a red light means STOP UNTIL IT TURNS GREEN, even if there are no walkers in sight. Some training of the traffic wardens to that effect wouldn’t go astray.

Puppy Love

“Please let me beg you for help I am a Norwegian mother who have a daughter from this country. She is an animal lover by heart. I need to ask your help to open up publish an article for us so we can help providing homes and get 5 puppies off the streets into goodhearted homes. We will try this to reach out by making a story with my daughter, 8 years old. My daughter, (name withheld) and I has taken care of 7 puppies (now 5 left) for three weeks. We bicycle and discovered the scared mom and puppies on a corner of a trafficated road (soi 94).

My daughter has taken care of many dogs this summer, not only providing food but medicines (antibiotics and blood supplement and Bravecto) – This has saved three from dying and we are so happy we have spent the summer doing this. My daughter deserves a happy ending with the puppies, because if we can give hope we also help plant a seed in a new generation that will inspire to take care in the future Please see what you can do, I know you must be the one that can help us with an article about soi dogs and caring! Khob khun mak ka! Best regards, Llada”

Hua Hin Today receives many comments about the soi dog situation; some complaining, some with suggestions and in this case a heartfelt plea. We’ll pass on genuine offers for a ‘goodhearted home’ to our reader; just email us with your contact details.
