Mr. Preeda Sukjai, from the Thap Sakae district of Prachuap Khiri Khan Province with the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation have used heavy machinery to put in place sand bags 700 metres of the Thap Sakae beach address erosion problems due to waves up to 4 metres and high winds with the erosion affecting the homes of the people who live along the coast.

The Thap Sakae Sub-district administrative used an emergency budget to buy 1,000 pine logs to reinforce the sand bags with officers to watch the houses in high risk locations and to provide assistance 24 hours a day. In the case of unsafe homes help is being offered to relocate away from the beach area until the conditions become calm.

At the same time, Pranburi Forest Park staff, along with soldiers from the Thanarat Camp Infantry Centre, helped clean up the beachfront of Pranburi Beach to protect the environment and tourism after the strong winds at the Gulf of Thailand resulted in refuse being deposited on the beach.
