Letters to the editor

Traditionally newspapers around the world have published letters received by readers as their opinions about a variety of subjects.

In recent years social media may have overshadowed this outlet as a quick and easy way to make comments however Hua Hin Today often receives emails from our readers or comments posted on our Facebook page. Thanks for your contributions! Our readers are always encouraged to provide a point of view, however we will ignore aggressive, abusive or defamatory comments. Critical comment seems to be the most prevalent mode, but we also receive positive feedback, that’s always a pleasant surprise! About Soi 102 Pasi T writes: “Could you please run a story on a dangerous road – Soi 102 Hua Hin.

From Blúport Soi 102 is sealed for 2 kms and after that is a dirt road where there are many homes and resorts. The dirt road is difficult when dry as in parts half the road is gone and very dangerous and impassable when wet/floods. We were lucky to survive when we tried to get back to our accommodation and had to be rescued by a large truck. Someone may get seriously hurt unless something is done.” Note – this is an abbreviation of a much longer letter.

Editor’s comments: We haven’t had the opportunity to take a close look at Soi 102 since receiving this letter, however Pasi’s photos tell the story. Perhaps another case of improved infrastructure not keeping pace with developers who may not plan or contribute towards these needs.
