The Save-a-life Project, administered by the Rotary Club of Royal Hua Hin (RCRHH), is not only raising funds, but is potentially saving lives in the process.
RCRHH Rotarians Eva Hoetzel and Dr. Gerhard Hoetzel recognised the benefits of this simple life saving action and decided to introduce it to Thailand through a New Zealand-backed initiative. The Rotary Club of Royal Hua Hin has taken over the national distribution of these capsules. Club President Gianni Battistini believes that the 100 THB key rings can be a simple partial solution to a nationwide problem, saying, “We are aiming for every person living in Thailand to have one of these life saving key rings”. Why Aspirin? Most heart attacks develop following the rupture of cholesterol-laden plaque in a coronary artery. This attracts platelets to the surface, which form clots and block the artery, causing a heart attack. The aspirin works by inhibiting the platelets, thus giving time to get professional help. Save-a-life key rings can be bought at the RCRHH weekly club meeting (Tuesday 12 Noon) at AMARI Hotel Hua Hin or can be ordered by e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org).
