Hot on the heels of new Executive Chef, Horst Kocsisek, comes new Director of Food & Beverage, Andreas Herzig, who arrives at the Dusit Thani Hua Hin from a similar role at Siam Kempinski Bangkok.
Andi, as he is known, is a 35-year-old Bavarian graduate of César Ritz Colleges Switzerland. His CV also includes managerial assignments at Munich institution Café Luitpold; Kempinski properties in Italy, Czech Republic, Spain and Bulgaria; a 3-year stint as Director of Outlets and Director of Banquet at the St Regis Aspen Resort, USA and the Schloss Elmau Luxury Spa & Cultural Hideaway near the Austrian border.
Being located in Thailand does present challenges in pursuing keen interests in skiing and lacrosse for Andi, who excels in both sports and has represented Germany in the latter.
Talk to Andi and you’ll immediately get a feel for how close skiing is to his heart, not surprising when considering where he was born, has studied and worked. Taking up the sport at a young age, he has become a more than competent downhill skier.
Travelling off the beaten track is another passion, which Andi likes to combine with his wining and dining interests.
Look out for amiable Andi at Dusit Thani Hua Hin as he looks to add his magical ingredients and move their wining and dining options to the next level in the process.
