The exquisite Rocks Restaurant at the fabulously stylish Cape Nidhra Hotel located in central Hua Hin is something very special. The Rocks is next to a breathtakingly beautiful stretch of the Hua Hin beach overlooking the Cape Nidhra swimming pool. Dining at the Rocks is an experience to be savoured. The renowned expert Thai chef Chumpon Permtieng prepares an exciting array of food to entice any Thai or international guest’s palate.
All done with such style, but without going over the top. Of particular note is the amazing BBQ buffet that
the Rock puts on every Tuesday from 6.30pm until 10pm for a price of 1,300 THB Net per person. Not to be missed if you like the very best BBQ in luxurious surroundings. Cape Nidhra also offer a Thai cooking class, where the very lucky participants can learn to cook authentic Thai dishes and I presume impress everyone back home. When we arrived, we were introduced to the General Manager Christian Roeschli of Cape Nidhra and then accompanied to the Rocks restaurant by the very engaging Kate (LaphatradaKerdsuk, the Sales Coordinator).
Kate kindly selected for us five dishes from the a la carte menu all prepared by expect Chef Chumpon Permtieng: Tuna Tartar served with Capers, Sun-Dried Tomatoes and Lemon Zest. Salmon in Yellow Curry (A southern Thai Curry with intense flavours – not for the faint-hearted.
Served with Thai Omelette and Pork Crackling. NidhraVongole with Bottarga (Spaghetti with Fresh Clams in White Wine Sauce, served with Italian Cured Mullet Roe. Roasted Baby Chicken (Marinated Baby Chicken with Provence Herbs, Honey and Ginger, Served with Spring Vegetables and Roasted Fingerling Potatoes. Spiced Poached Pear served with Vanilla Ice Cream. Every dish was so perfect; my taste buds can still remember each course. Excellent in every way. I will not forget this dining experience.
