Fin Free Thailand hosted the Hua Hin Blue List Sign Up at the Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Hua Hin, to welcome new hotels to the shark-friendly Blue List. The Blue List refers to businesses that are committed to being 100% shark fin free. The Hua Hin Municipality School students, Centara staff and Fin Free Thailand are united in their pledge to protect our oceans and sharks. The day included some welcoming remarks by Khun Peter Nilsson, the Centara General Manager and Fin Free Thailand Ambassador, Cindy-Sirinya Bishop. There was also a presentation of Blue List plaques to Blue List hotels.
A ‘Fin Free Thailand’ presentation was made by Fin Free Thailand student ambassadors. There was also a classroom session for local students about shark and ocean conservation. Other student activities included making drawings with under the topic of “What can we do to help project the wildlife, ocean and environment?” They also participated in shark sand sculptures at the beachfront. More information: http://www.finfreethai. org/ includes the ‘Blue List’. Shark fin soup? It would be a very naïve and unpopular restaurant in Hua Hin which keeps this on the menu!
