

The National Health Security Office (NHSO), along with the Department of Disease Control, will provide free vaccination against influenza of over 3 million doses for Thai people in May 2015. The Director General of NHSO, Doctor Winai Sawasdiwon said that Thai people could obtain this vaccine between 1 May and 31 July 2015 for free. Priority will be given to patients suffering from chronic illness, namely heart disease, cancer or diabetes, people of over 65 years old, children between 6 months and 2 years old and pregnant women (over 4 weeks). Over three million doses will be reserved for them. There will be another 400,000 doses of the vaccine for medical staff of the Ministry of Public Health who are prone to influenza in the upcoming rainy season.
