It’s Showtime – Lingerie Affir With Victoria Secret Show

Unless you were in hiding, you must know that last month, not only it was the month of Christmas but it was also the month of the most popular lingerie catwalk for the past 19 years, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. It place in London this time. There was a lot of winking, kisses blown at the camera, and amazing lingerie on show. And Models Alessandra Ambrosio and Adriana Lima were chosen to wear the $2 million Dream Angels Fantasy down the runway. Each of this year’s designs was made by Mouawad jewellers using 16,000 rubies, diamonds and sapphires, together with 18 karat gold. The ensembles took the designers more than 1,380 hours to make. Also famous singers Taylor Swift in sexy black lace, Ed Sheeran and Ariana Grande were entertaining during show.

The show started with the theme of: The “Gilded Angels” – it looked incredibly sexy, creamcoloured and gold-studded lingerie with the luxury of lace trims complemented by huge golden wings and gold chain embroidered metallic sandals with gold leaf winks, feathers, sparkles, ornaments and beading… The “Dream Girl” drew from the romantic influence of the 50s with a delicate touch of pastel pink and light black lace all with Taylor Swift singing in the background. Then the entrance of the “Exotic Traveler” was showing off the 2 most expensive designs, one in passion red, the other in electric blue colours painted the models in a Bollywood/ Asian-inspired outfits with mirrors and jewels, feathers and pompom all in vibrant colors…

Following the atmosphere of “University of Pink” addressed in particular to the brand’s younger customers, sporty underwear was paired with laceup knee high boots featuring pink and leopard print patterns as well as graffiti-painted wings inspired by Jeremy Scott, Kenzo and vintage Versace… with fluffy pink edges to create a fun, girly look. “Fairy Tale” was inspired by Tinkerbell and styled the girls in a different set of wings; magnificent butterflies and other beautiful creatures coming out from the Garden of Eden, a paradise jungle or a mysterious forrest. The last theme – The “Angel Ball” was a celebration of dramatic but still sexy elegant black gowns, inspired from black and white tuxedo. Facts you didn’t know: Before Victoria’s Secret, there were granny panties at your local department store. T

hat’s exactly why Roy Raymond founded the store in Northern California in 1977. It grew to be the largest American retailer of lingerie and moved into apparel, beauty products and up to now the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show once a year since 1995. The first show, in 1995, was held by brunette beauty Stephanie Seymour and was not televised but took place at the tony Plaza Hotel in New York City.

The early events served as pre Valentine’s Day advertising of the brand to men. By 1999, Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show took place on the Internet as a web cast. You need to wait 2001 to see it shown on television. In a true beauty pageant form, one “Angel” (the way they call the models walking to that show) is chosen to wear the “fantasy bra” that is crafted by a jewelry designer and typically is valued at between $1 and $10 million. Giselle Bundchen strutted her way into Guinness World Records in 2000 by wearing the Red Hot Fantasy Bra with a price tag of $15 million – the most expensive piece of lingerie, ever. You wonder now how to watch it?!? It is on YouTube.
