AirAsia is set to resume operating flights between Hua Hin, Chiang Mai and Udon Thani from October.
At a meeting held at Hua Hin Municipality offices on Friday (Sept 10) between the working group responsible for overseeing the plan to reopen Hua Hin to both foreign and domestic tourists from October 1, it was revealed that AirAsia has confirmed plans to resume its domestic flights from Hua Hin Airport.
Thai AirAsia launched Chiang Mai (CNX) – Hua Hin and Udon Thani (UTH) – Hua Hin flights in August 2020, with the services having been suspended due to the travel restrictions put in place during the pandemic.
However, with restrictions set to be eased further from October 1, airline officials have confirmed to Hua Hin Municipality and the Tourism Authority their intention for the resumption of domestic flights from next month.
Also at the meeting, the working group discussed some of the measures that will be put in place once tourists start visiting the province from October 1.
The group heard how both surveillance and cleanliness will increased at all tourist attractions and historical sites throughout the province in order to ensure the safety of visiting tourists.
A final push will be made to engage with business operators within the tourism industry in the province to ensure that all staff are fully vaccinated within ahead of the reopening.
Special measures will be put in place to control the movement of labour and migrant workers across the province.
Officials in the working group said they will also consider a proposal to allow vaccinated foreign tourists to visit all districts throughout Prachuap Khiri Khan following their arrival in Hua Hin.
Current rules state that any vaccinated foreign tourist who arrives in Hua Hin from October 1 can only travel within Hua Hin centre and Nong Khae sub-distrct, an area of approximately 83 square kilometres.
