Health officials on Wednesday (Aug 18) reported 70 new COVID-19 cases, 18 of which were found in Hua Hin.
Elsewhere in the province, 27 cases were found in Pranburi, 2 cases in Sam Roi Yot, 5 cases in Kuiburi, 2 cases in Thap Sakae, 7 cases in Bang Saphan, 4 cases in Bang Saphan Noi, and 5 cases in Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan.
One more death was also reported bringing the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 32.
Health officials said the deceased was a 90-year-old woman living in Hua Hin area. She has a congenital disease and had not been vaccinated.
The new cases bring the total number of cases in the province since April 1 to 6,680 cases.
Meanwhile, 97 people were also discharged from hospital or quarantine having made a full recovery.
Of the 6,680 cumulative total cases in the province, 1,482 are currently receiving treatment in hospital or are staying in quarantine, while a total of 5,166 have made a full recovery and have already been discharged.
Health officials say 92 patients are currently in a serious condition in hospital, while 253 others are in what is described as a moderate condition.
