Health officials on Monday (Aug 23) reported 97 new COVID-19 cases, 22 of which were found in Hua Hin.
Elsewhere in the province, 3 cases were found in Pranburi, 10 cases in Sam Roi Yot, 20 cases in Kuiburi, 2 cases in Thap Sakae, 17 cases in Bang Saphan, 16 cases in Bang Saphan Noi, and 7 cases in Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan.
Health officials said that many cases were linked to the following clusters:
- Hua Hin: Karon village in Pala U (+6 cases)
- Kuiburi: Fruit factory (+19 cases)
One more death was reported today, a 79-year-old, who lived in Bang Saphan Noi who had an underlying health condition and who had not yet been vaccinated.
The new cases bring the total number of cases in the province since April 1 to 7,164 cases.
Meanwhile, 108 people were also discharged from hospital or quarantine having made a full recovery.
Of the 7,164 cumulative total cases in the province, 1,329 are currently receiving treatment in hospital or are staying in quarantine, while a total of 5,790 have made a full recovery and have already been discharged.
Health officials say 90 patients are currently in a serious condition in hospital, while 220 others are in what is described as a moderate condition.
