Health officials on Tuesday (Aug 24) reported 39 new COVID-19 cases, 18 of which were found in Hua Hin.
Elsewhere in the province, 5 cases were found in Pranburi, 3 cases in Sam Roi Yot, No cases in Kuiburi, as well no cases in Thap Sakae, 7 cases in Bang Saphan, No cases in Bang Saphan Noi, and 6 cases in Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan.
Health officials said that many cases were linked to the following clusters:
Hua Hin: Karon village in Pala U (+4 cases)
Sam Roi Yot: Fruit factory (+1 case)
Pranburi: Pranburi Hospital cluster (+1 case)
3 more deaths were also reported – a 65 year old woman and a 73 year old man, both of whom lived in Pranburi and both had underlying health conditions.
A 49 year old man from Prachuap who health officials said had no underlying health conditions also died.
The new cases bring the total number of cases in the province since April 1 to 7,203 cases.
Meanwhile, 157 people were also discharged from hospital or quarantine having made a full recovery.
Of the 7,203 cumulative total cases in the province, 1,208 are currently receiving treatment in hospital or are staying in quarantine, while a total of 5,947 have made a full recovery and have already been discharged.
Health officials say 95 patients are currently in a serious condition in hospital, while 221 others are in what is described as a moderate condition.
There has also been a jump in the number of vaccines administered throughout the province.
Health officials on Tuesday reported a total of 214,485 vaccine doses have been administered in the province.
Of those, 143,391 people have received one dose, while 66,264 people have received two doses.
