Aug 26: Prachuap reports 159 new COVID-19 cases, 231 recoveries

Health officials on Thursday (Aug 26) reported 159 new COVID-19 cases, 9 of which were found in Hua Hin.

Elsewhere in the province, 19 cases were found in Pranburi, 1 case in Sam Roi Yot, 53 cases in Kuiburi, zero cases in Thap Sakae, 5 cases in Bang Saphan, 3 cases in Bang Saphan Noi, and 69 cases in Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan.

Health officials said that many cases were linked to the following clusters:

  • Kuiburi: Fruit factory (+51 cases)
  • Pranburi: linked to Chatchai market (+6 cases)
  • Prachuap Khiri Khan: Prachuap jail cluster (+66 cases)

No new deaths were reported

The new cases bring the total number of cases in the province since April 1 to 7,445 cases.

Meanwhile, 231 people were also discharged from hospital or quarantine having made a full recovery.

Of the 7,445 cumulative total cases in the province, 1,165 are currently receiving treatment in hospital or are staying in quarantine, while a total of 6,231 have made a full recovery and have already been discharged.

Health officials say 79 patients are currently in a serious condition in hospital, while 229 others are in what is described as a moderate condition.

There was also another significant rise in the number of vaccines administered in the province in the last 24 hours.

Health officials on Thursday reported a total of 231,363 vaccine doses have been administered in the province – an increase of almost 10,000 from Wednesday.

Of those, 156,336 people have received one dose, while 69,958 people have received two doses.
