BluPort Hua Hin is set to host the ‘Touch of Thainess Loy Krathong Festival’ from November 22 to 27, 2023.
This event, announced by Ms. Wachi Klomkleang, Executive Director of Hua Hin Asset Company Limited, aims to celebrate the Loy Krathong tradition, drawing both local residents and international tourists.
The festival, taking place at BluPort Hua Hin’s waterfront activity zone on the G floor and the Thai Pavilion activity area on the B floor, will showcase an array of Thai cultural experiences.
Visitors can immerse themselves in traditional Thai lifestyle, taste authentic Thai cuisine, and shop for Thai products. A key highlight of the festival is the environmentally friendly Kratong floating using natural materials, emphasizing BluPort Hua Hin’s commitment to sustainability and the preservation of Thai traditions.
An exhibition detailing the history of Loy Krathong is part of the festival’s offerings, along with various festive entertainments, including Thai performances, circle dances, long drum dances, and contemporary Thai music, scheduled from November 25 to 27.
Experts in Ayutthaya history and costumes will demonstrate different styles of Thai dress, and costume rental services for photo opportunities will be available. Special promotions are on offer for BluPort Hua Hin customers, including a free 3-hour Thai costume rental for those who shop for 3,000 Baht.
In addition, the festival features workshops on making Kratong from natural materials. Customers who spend 3,000 Baht at Thai Pavilion will receive an opportunity to craft their own Kratong for free, with all necessary materials provided.
Ms. Klomkleang highlighted the festival’s focus on environmental conservation and the promotion of sustainable practices. “We aim to create a sustainable beauty phenomenon,” she stated, “by promoting Loy Krathongs made from natural materials like banana leaves, encouraging participation in this beautiful tradition while also sustaining nature.”
The ‘Touch of Thainess Loy Krathong Festival’ is part of BluePort Hua Hin’s ongoing effort to attract international tourists and stimulate Thailand’s economy by leveraging the global recognition of Loy Krathong.
