A Danish man who has been missing in Thailand since March is believed to have last been seen in Prachuap Khiri Khan, according to an appeal issued by his family.

Jakob Jensen, 41, was last reported seen on 21 March after travelling by bus from Ranong to Bangkok. A possible sighting placed him disembarking in Prachuap Khiri Khan, but there has been no confirmed trace of him since.

On 15 May, a relative of Mr Jensen posted a detailed account of the case on the online forum Reddit, appealing for help from the public. The post, titled “HELP! My little brother has gone missing!”, outlined Mr Jensen’s movements in Thailand and described the family’s concerns for his wellbeing.

Mr Jensen, who suffers from a mental health condition and has been without his prescribed medication for several weeks, is said to have been in a psychotic state at the time of his disappearance.

Originally arriving in Thailand in early February, Mr Jensen had been staying with a friend in Ranong. On 1 March, the friend took him to Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok, where he was expected to board a flight back to Denmark. However, it appears he never left the country. The following day, he sent an email to his mother—his final known communication with his family.

His mobile phone was switched off on 3 March and has not been used since.

On or around 19 March, Mr Jensen is reported to have returned to Ranong and was seen staying at a guesthouse called Palmy House. However, he made no contact with his friend, which the family described as unusual.

On 21 March, after reportedly damaging property at the guesthouse, he was assisted by tourist police and put on a bus to Bangkok. He told officers he intended to visit a friend, though his family said they are unaware of anyone he knows in the city.

A witness later claimed to have seen Mr Jensen get off the bus in Prachuap Khiri Khan, making it the last known location he was possibly seen.

The family contacted the Danish police and embassy in early May. On 6 May, Danish authorities issued an international missing persons report and began efforts to trace Mr Jensen’s bank activity. As of 14 May, access to his financial records was still being processed.

Thai immigration records confirm Mr Jensen’s presence in Ranong but do not show any additional movements. Tourist police in Ranong and Bangkok have been informed of the case, and the Danish embassy in Bangkok is also aware of the situation.

The family’s online appeal has been widely shared on social media and received attention from both Thai and European media outlets.

Mr Jensen is described as 180cm tall, weighing around 90kg, with dark blond hair, a curly brown beard with grey patches, and grey-green eyes.

Anyone who may have seen Jakob Jensen or has information about his whereabouts is encouraged to contact the local authorities or the Danish embassy in Bangkok.
