Elderly expat missing from Cha Am for 3 days found safe and well

An elderly expat missing from his home in Cha Am since Wednesday has been found alive and relatively unscathed in the Tha Yang area.
Thai language media said the 79 year old Dutch national was found by locals in the Klat Luang area of protected forest adjacent to the Kaeng Krachan national park.
It was reported he was found 800 meters off the road trying to shelter from the heat by resting his feet in a small reservoir.
The man was reportedly exhausted and had a few superficial injuries but was otherwise well.
Rescuers took the man to hospital as a precaution before he was due to return to his house in Cha Am and be reunited with his wife.
Earlier, the man’s wife told police how her husband had left their home in Nayang on his Fino motorcycle to go out for a drink.
The man had apparently called his wife to say he had got lost in some woods.
Then contact stopped and his wife was unable to reach her husband by telephone.
On Friday, a search party of 100 police and tourist police were looking for the man.
