Hua Hin has officially welcomed its new district chief, Prasoot Hombunterng, who assumed his position on March 10, 2025, during a ceremony at the Hua Hin District Office (Bypass).
Prasoot was greeted by Kittichai Srithongchuay, Deputy District Chief, and Paiboon Tangthai, President of the Subdistrict Headman and Village Headman Association, along with local leaders who presented him with a bouquet of flowers. Representatives from the Hua Hin Red Cross Branch Committee, the Rotary Club of Hua Hin, the Hua Hin Women’s Club, and various other local organisations were also in attendance to extend their congratulations.
As part of the proceedings, Prasoot paid homage to the statue of King Rama V and made offerings at the Brahma Shrine, following tradition for good fortune.
Speaking at the event, he expressed his commitment to working alongside local authorities and community members.
“I am honoured to take on this role and to work closely with the district administration, local leaders, and organisations. The Ministry of Interior has assigned me here, and while my tenure may be limited, my focus will be on fostering collaboration and driving the development of Hua Hin. My door will always be open for discussion and cooperation,” he said.
Background and plans
Originally from Sa Kaeo Province, Prasoot has previously held leadership positions in other districts. He served as District Chief in Phetchaburi for one year and one month before being transferred to Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan, where he served for the same duration. His new appointment brings him to Hua Hin, where he intends to quickly familiarise himself with the district’s key issues and implement policies in line with provincial and Ministry of Interior directives.
As he begins his tenure, Prasoot has indicated that his priorities will include strengthening local governance, addressing community concerns, and supporting ongoing development initiatives to further improve the district.
