Sept 7: Prachuap reports 65 new COVID-19 cases, plus 80 found at prison cluster

Health officials on Tuesday (Sept 7) reported 65 new COVID-19 cases, as well as a further 80 cases which were found at Prachuap prison.

Elsewhere in the province, 2 cases were found in Hua Hin, zero cases were found in Pranburi, 1 case in Sam Roi Yot, 13 cases in Kuiburi, 1 case in Thap Sakae, 2 cases in Bang Saphan, 2 case in Bang Saphan Noi and 44 in Mueang Prachuap.

One more death was reported today, who was a 63 year old Thai man from Bang Saphan who had an underlying health condition.

Health officials reported cases from the following clusters:

  • Hua Hin – Nong Kae Army School cluster (+33 cases)
  • Prachuap Khiri Khan – Prachuap prison (+80 cases), Thanmikaram temple (+24 cases)
  • Kuiburi – fruit factory (+11 cases)

The new cases bring the total number of cases in the province since April 1 to 8,642 cases.

Meanwhile, 119 people were also discharged from hospital or quarantine having made a full recovery.

Of the 8,642 cumulative total cases in the province, 1,715 are currently receiving treatment in hospital or are staying in quarantine, while a total of 7,272 have made a full recovery and have already been discharged.

Health officials say 61 patients are currently in a serious condition in hospital, while 285 others are in what is described as a moderate condition.

Health officials on Tuesday reported a total of 291,724 vaccine doses have been administered in the province.

Of those, 197,374 people have received one dose, while 88,919 people have received two doses.
