The Southern-East Coast Meteorological Center has warned adverse weather across the Gulf of Thailand.
The Southern-East Coast Meteorological Center said strong winds and heavy rain will affect nine provinces until Nov 13.
Forecasters said people in Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat provinces could see heavy rain and a risk of flash flooding between 9-13 Nov.
Forecasters said an intense high pressure area from China continues to extend its ridge to cover upper Thailand causing the northeast monsoon prevailing over the Gulf of Thailand, the South, and the Andaman Sea to intensify
In the Gulf of Thailand, the wind and waves will be greater, with waves reaching 2-3 meters high as a strong winds coming to shore might be dangerous for anyone living on the east coast’s southern coast, forecasters warned.
Fishermen should exercise caution when sailing, and small boats should stay onshore during the day. The weather forecast from the Southern Meteorological Center on the East Coast should be regularly monitored by the public.
