Some business operators have announced that their employees should not visit high-risk areas for Covid-19 because they incur a high risk of being infected.
If an employee disregards the recommendation, they must self quarantine at home for 14 days. Department of Labour Protection and Welfare informed that if an employee is infected and must be quarantined, an employer must pay wages to that employee.
Also, employers should provide employees rights for either sick leave or annual leave. Plus, an employer cannot lay an employee off because they have contracted Covid-19, it is a communicable disease and it has nothing to do with the employees self discipline, therefore, an employee has to be paid sick leave.
