A 120 bed field hospital has been set up to treat COVID-19 patients in Sam Roi Yot.
The field hospital, which is located at Wat Tan Chet Yod, with also be used to treat people who have returned to Prachuap Khiri Khan having tested positive in other provinces.
People who test positive for COVID-19 have the option to return to their home province for treatment.
The field hospital has been setup after receiving financial support in the form of donations, which were used to buy various medical equipment and other items such as bedding sets, blankets, fans, chairs and a washing machine.
In addition, the province is preparing to build a second field hospital after a new cluster was found in the Takeng Industry Canned Pineapple Co., Ltd., which were found 75 cases infected with COVID on Friday (Aug 6), including both Myanmar and Thai workers
Health officials said locals should have no cause for concern over about the field hospitals.
In the case of the Wat Tan Chet Yod field hospital, the nearest community is 200-500 meters away with high fencing in place so nearby residents do not have to worry about the spread of COVID-19.
However, the health officials have continued to ask for cooperation from all nearby people to follow the measures prescribed by the province, including strictly following the safety measures (DMHTT) for the safety of themselves and their families.
