Aug 19: Prachuap reports 74 new COVID-19 cases, 17 in Hua Hin

Health officials on Thursday (Aug 19) reported 74 new COVID-19 cases, 17 of which were found in Hua Hin.

Elsewhere in the province, 29 cases were found in Pranburi, 2 cases in Sam Roi Yot, zero cases in Kuiburi, 4 cases in Thap Sakae, 2 cases in Bang Saphan, 4 cases in Bang Saphan Noi, and 16 cases in Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan.

Two more deaths were reported today, one of them was an 85-year-old monk who lives in Bang Saphan Noi who had an underlying health condition. The other was a 57-year-old woman lives in Pranburi District, who also had an underlying health condition. Both the deceased had not been vaccinated, health officials said.

The new cases bring the total number of cases in the province since April 1 to 6,754 cases.

Meanwhile, 85 people were also discharged from hospital or quarantine having made a full recovery.

Of the 6,754 cumulative total cases in the province, 1,469 are currently receiving treatment in hospital or are staying in quarantine, while a total of 5,251 have made a full recovery and have already been discharged.

Health officials say 90 patients are currently in a serious condition in hospital, while 247 others are in what is described as a moderate condition.
