Health officials on Friday (Aug 20) reported 71 new COVID-19 cases and 4 deaths, but on a more positive note, a large number of recoveries were also reported.
Elsewhere in the province, 15 cases were found in Pranburi, 11 cases in Sam Roi Yot, 10 cases in Kuiburi, 2 cases in Thap Sakae, 7 cases in Bang Saphan, 6 cases in Bang Saphan Noi, and 7 cases in Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan.
Four more deaths were reported today. Health officials said were two men and two women, one of the women who died was 21 weeks pregnant, and all of them have not been vaccinated.
The new cases bring the total number of cases in the province since April 1 to 6,825 cases.
Meanwhile, 185 people were also discharged from hospital or quarantine having made a full recovery.
Of the 6,825 cumulative total cases in the province, 1,351 are currently receiving treatment in hospital or are staying in quarantine, while a total of 5,436 have made a full recovery and have already been discharged.
Health officials say 84 patients are currently in a serious condition in hospital, while 245 others are in what is described as a moderate condition.
