Authorities in Hua Hin have begun work to organise communication cables at high-risk locations across the city, starting with the area outside the Hua Hin City Municipality Office.

The operation got underway on 30 May and is part of a two-day plan overseen by the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) Hua Hin Branch, in cooperation with the Office of the NBTC and several telecommunications providers.

The work aims to streamline communication cables at nine high-risk spots across the municipal area. The first location addressed was the intersection in front of the municipality office, with the remaining sites scheduled to be completed by 31 May.

Governor of Prachuap Khiri Khan Province Sitthichai Sawaetsan joined the site inspection alongside Hua Hin District Chief Prasoot Hombunthoeng, Municipal Clerk Jirawat Phramanee, who is acting as Mayor of Hua Hin City, and Kalayut Kuyukham, Director of the Engineering Office. Officials from the PEA, led by Hua Hin Branch Manager Phasakorn Phasurakan, also took part.

Telecommunications companies supporting the initiative include TOT, CAT, AIS, 3BB, UIH, and InternetLink.

In addition to improving safety and reducing risks associated with tangled or low-hanging cables, the operation is intended to enhance the appearance of key urban areas as Hua Hin continues to welcome visitors.
