Golden Place Hua Hin is back in service with an expanded store and a refreshed look, better than ever.
The store remains dedicated to its mission of being a “refrigerator for the people,” offering quality products such as fresh, pesticide-free fruits and vegetables, OTOP products, and goods from small-scale entrepreneurs, supporting local residents and farmers in the community.
The store brings popular products from Bangkok directly to Hua Hin for everyone to enjoy, including miang kham, pork tofu meatballs, and skewers, available for sale every Tuesday and Saturday. Additionally, there will be a sales point for products from the Friends in Need (of “PA”) Volunteers Foundation (Thai Red Cross), offering goods from communities affected by floods.
A new zone has also been introduced for Golden Coffee, a café serving coffee made from Arabica beans sourced from the Royal Project at Doi Mae Salong. The café features beverages made from ingredients from various provinces in Thailand, such as Rambutan coffee from Chanthaburi, Betel Nut Soda from Pattani, and drinks designed to balance different elements. For this month, the focus is on the earth element, with recommended items including Americano with Bael fruit and cinnamon, as well as Matcha Corn Drink – both inviting everyone to taste and enjoy.
Golden Kitchen, a restaurant within Golden Place, offers delicious dishes made from ingredients sourced locally, with no added MSG or artificial seasonings. The food is tasty, clean, high-quality, and reasonably priced, and there’s a cozy chill-out area for customers to relax and enjoy.
Golden Place: A model retail store for Thai people, rooted in the sufficiency economy
Golden Place Hua Hin opened its doors on February 14, 2001. On March 3, 2001, His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej visited the Golden Place store in Hua Hin, an event of great honor for the Executive Committee of Suvarnachad Company Limited and its staff, who had the privilege of welcoming His Majesty.
During his visit, His Majesty provided valuable guidance on store operations, product displays, and distribution processes. He spent around two hours at the store, engaging with the staff and posing for photographs before returning to the palace.
Golden Place’s signature Golden Coffee is made from high-quality coffee beans sourced from high-altitude farms. These beans undergo meticulous selection and delicate roasting, creating a coffee with an aromatic fragrance and smooth taste.
The area, once affected by deforestation and opium farming, has now been transformed into thriving evergreen forests and productive winter crop farms. Thanks to His Majesty’s royal projects, Thai people are now smiling with sustainable happiness, enjoying the benefits of these environmental and economic transformations.
His Majesty’s efforts replaced opium cultivation with economic crops. What once was a region plagued by drugs and deforested land has now been rejuvenated into organic farms, quality coffee plantations, and processed product industries. Knowledge has been passed down through generations, encouraging people to love and care for their native lands, which have now become sustainable farming models and tourist attractions.
His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn continues the work of his father, King Bhumibol Adulyadej, supporting highland plantations, eliminating opium farming, preserving watershed forests, and creating income for Thai farmers.
