HUA HIN NEXT: Mayor outlines future development plans for Hua Hin
A meeting chaired by Hua Hin Mayor Nopporn Wutthikul on 21 July laid out a series of initiatives aimed at shaping the future of Hua Hin City Municipality under the “HUAHIN NEXT: Hua Hin Must Move Forward” programme.
The meeting, held at the Naresdamri Room at the Hua Hin City Municipality Office, brought together senior municipal executives, government department heads, and newly appointed special and assistant advisors to the mayor.
HUA HIN NEXT outlines plans for Hua Hin’s future
The mayor presented a series of planned developments, highlighting key infrastructure, tourism, safety, education, and community-based projects intended to support Hua Hin’s growth and improve the quality of life for residents.
Among the initiatives announced were:
- Construction of a disaster prevention and mitigation building.
- Development of a road running parallel to the railway from Bo Fai to Khao Tao.
- Establishment of a “Happiness Centre” to promote wellbeing in the community.
- Installation of additional CCTV cameras and LED street lighting across the city.
- Enhancement of Khao Hin Lek Fai as a tourism destination.
- Construction of a modern classroom building at Ban Hua Hin Municipal Demonstration School.
- Promotion of sports among the general public and young people.
- Community support programmes aimed at fostering new career opportunities.
- Construction of a new waterworks facility in Bo Fai to improve water infrastructure.
- A new approach to managing the long-tailed macaque population at Khao Hin Lek Fai by repurposing existing bird cages into monkey enclosures.
To strengthen strategic planning and broaden community input, the mayor also appointed 35 individuals as special and assistant advisors to assist in driving the city’s development efforts.
The meeting underscored the municipality’s goal of transforming Hua Hin into a “City of Happiness,” with a focus on balanced urban development, safety, education, and sustainable tourism.
