Prachuap Khiri Khan has ranked among the top provinces in Thailand for domestic tourism, according to the latest data from the Tourism and Sports Economics Division.
The province recorded 934,757 visitors in June 2024, marking a 12.71% increase compared to the same period last year.
The report, which highlights the 10 provinces with the highest number of visitors, placed Prachuap Khiri Khan fifth on the list. Bangkok led with 4,505,110 visitors, despite a slight decline of 0.57%. Chonburi followed with 2,107,971 visitors, a rise of 11.92%, while Kanchanaburi and Phuket also saw significant increases, with 1,265,139 visitors (up 12.63%) and 954,911 visitors (up 11.60%), respectively.
In terms of tourism revenue, Prachuap Khiri Khan generated 3,940.18 million baht in June 2024, representing a substantial increase of 20.87% year-on-year. This placed the province seventh in terms of revenue generation, with Bangkok again leading the pack with 64,785.06 million baht, followed by Phuket with 34,936.97 million baht.
Overall, the 10 provinces with the highest visitor numbers collectively attracted 27,162,720 tourists in June 2024, an increase of 10.52% from the previous year. Tourism revenue for these provinces totalled 195,051.98 million baht, reflecting a 14.99% rise.
The data underscores Prachuap Khiri Khan’s appeal as a destination for domestic travellers, contributing significantly to the province’s economic growth and reinforcing its position as one of Thailand’s key tourism hubs.
