Mr. Pirom Niltaya has chaired a meeting about a consumer complaint posted on social media by a tourist. The posting commented on what was claimed to be unreasonable prices for a seafood meal.
The tourists had visited Hua Hin and eaten some seafood (crabs) at in a restaurant. When food was served it was small ‘swimmer’ crabs with a price of THB per dish which was considered to be too expensive. The need for clear menu prices was discussed including ant seasonal variations. These prices should be very clear to any customer prior to ordering any food. A further issue that emerged at the meeting was the lack of the required license by the restaurant in question. However customers should also be satisfied that they know the prices prior to ordering to avoid a subsequent dissatisfaction.
