Each project begins with the personal process of working with the client to ensure the designs reflect their needs and taste. Every piece of furniture and every element of an interior are completed to the most rigorous standards using the finest materials and traditional cabinet-making techniques. “Siam Old Teak was founded in 2005 designing handmade furniture on unparalleled craftsmanship, utilising traditional cabinetry techniques whilst introducing a modern management style. We now have five factories in Burma employing over 300 carpenters and provide healthcare and schooling for our staff and their families. We also run an apprentice scheme in cabinet making; this has been a very positive experience and essential for the future of Siam Old Teak. All our old teak is sourced ethically, we spend ten days each month purchasing old mainly colonial buildings which we dismantle and use the materials to build our furniture. We are incredibly proud of the personal aspect of our design process. It usually begins with a discussion with our client. We then produce a number of design sketches before approval for the final design. All our pieces are original, beautiful and will stand the test of time.
