Over 10,000 Runners Compete in Run for Hua Hin Half Marathon

Sunday 9th October saw the 2016, “Run for Hua Hin” half marathon  organised by True Arena Hua Hin in cooperation with Prachuap Khiri Khan Provincial, officers and business sector and entrepreneurs of Hua Hin.

This free of charge competition was purposely held to promote the positive image of Hua Hin as a travel and tourism destination. Private sector sponsorship was provided by BlúPort Resort Mall, True Corporation Public Company Limited, Muang Thai Life Assurance Public Company Limited, MahaSamutr Country Club by PACE Development Corporation Public Company Limited, Gems Gallery Group of Companies, Park 24 project and 100 Plus Functional Carbonated Soft Drinks.

The half marathon involved more than 10,000 participants, including professional runners and those who were just interested in enjoying the run from all over country. The opening ceremony of the half marathon was conducted by Suwat Liptapanlop, as Chairman of Advisers to the Run For Hua Hin steering committee, as Guest of Honour. In attendance were Governor of Prachuap Khiri Khan Dr.Tawee Narissirikul, the Mayor of Hua Hin Nopporn Wutthikul, Hua Hin District Chief Suthipong Klai-Udom and others Government agencies Sponsors were represented by Sorapoj Techakraisri CEO of PACE Development Corporation PLC, Chariya  Hunsawong General Manager of BlúPort Mall Hua Hin,

Thongchai Busrapan CEO of  Park 24 project under Proud Residences Company Limited. The male winner of the 21 km was Panatchakorn Sombuncharoen and the female winner was Sompon Yenjit. The male winner of 10.5 km was Somphon Promkaew and the female winner of 10.5 km was Anyamanee Klapachan. As well as the first place winners the first three people reaching the finish line, of male and female from 21 km and 10.5 km by age group (under 18 years, 18-29 years, 30-39 years, 40-49 years, 50-59 years and 60 + years) were also awarded prizes.
