2013 REFLECTIONS WITH PROM MEESAWAT
HUA HIN’S ‘BIG DOLPHIN’
Asiantour.com talks to Prom Meesawat of Thailand, who shares his thoughts on a memorable 2013 season where he was denied victory in two play-offs.
Assess your 2013 season?
I had a good season and I’m happy to finish inside the top-10 on the Asian Tour Order of Merit again. I’m glad I played well at the end of the 2013 season.
What was the main highlight for you?
I didn’t expect to play so well at the Hong Kong Open. Even though I lost in the play-off but that event was still the highlight for me.
If that was the high point, what was the low point?
I injured my left knee in June and I had to stop playing for six weeks.
If there is a shot that you can replay in 2013, which one would that be?
I want to re-hit my putt on the 17th hole again! If I made that birdie then I would have won the tournament.
What was your favourite tournament?
Hong Kong Open for sure! It was a good tournament even though I finished second.
What did you learn about yourself last year?
I learnt how to stay focus and patient. I was very focus in every shot that I made and didn’t think ahead.
What will you train on for 2014?
I will train hard on my fitness. That will help my game a lot in 2014.
Who do you think will be the next big star on the Asian Tour in 2014?
Gunn Charoenkul. He is a good player and he trains very hard.
