

The Asian Tour’s 2015 Qualifying School will be held in Thailand over a three-week run in January. The Qualifying School, sponsored by the Sports Authority of Thailand, will be held over two stages – the First and Final Stage – where the top-40 finishers and ties will earn playing rights on the region’s premier Tour in 2015. The First Stage will be held over two sections, with Section A to be staged at the Imperial Lakeview Golf Club in Hua Hin and Singha Park Khon Kaen Golf Club in Khon Kaen from January 7 to 10, 2015. Section B will be held at the Imperial Lakeview and Springfield Royal Country Club in Hua Hin from January 14 to 17. The Imperial Lakeview and Springfield Royal will then host the all-important Final Stage from January 21 to 24 where players will fight for top-40 finishes. Players who compete in the 2015 Qualifying School will also be eligible to play on the Asian Development Tour (ADT), which is the pathway to the Asian Tour. Our greatest ever golfer, Thongchai Jaidee, is a Qualifying School graduate while other Order of Merit winners such as Kiradech Aphibarnrat and Noh Seung-yul came through the Qualifying School process and have gone on to enjoy stellar careers on the Asian Tour and abroad.

This year’s inaugural event was a huge success with about 500 amateur golfers from 23 countries, the organisers, Thailand-based Golfasian and Australia’s Go Golfing, have said. The 2015 edition will take place from June 14-19 at Black Mountain, Banyan, Majestic Creek and Imperial Lakeview. “We are very delighted about the immense success of the inaugural event and are excited to welcome even more golfers to Hua Hin in June 2015,’’ said Thirayuth Chirathivat, CEO of Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Hua Hin. The tournament is open to male and female amateur golfers aged 35 and over.
