Minor Founder’s Day
Baan Nern Payorm School, Beung Nakorn branch is located about 60 kilometres south west of Hua Hin although it takes around one and a half hours to reach there by road. This is a very isolated area with poor communication and the people have had very little contact with the outside world.
There is no electricity or tap water for use by the children and residents. At present the school has 28 male and 25 female students and 2 government teachers. The young students have few of the necessities of life as their parents earn little income which is only derived from working in the pineapple fields nearby.
They cannot afford to eat good food and wear worn out clothes. This means it is almost impossible for them to finish Prathom level schooling (equivalent to Junior High). Anantara Hua Hin Resort & Spa has provided funding from donations during the year of over 79,000 THB, including from the “Anantara Garage Sale” to the headmaster of Baan Nern Phayom school. The funding has been used for building a chicken farm, buying new students uniform, shoes, socks, re-painting rooms and replacing a water tank. During a visit by the Anantara Team on 2nd June 2015 the following activities were enjoyed by local villagers:
– Music of the day by the Anantara band
– Cooking for lunch
– Building the chicken farm
– Painting the water tank and rooms
– Fun games
– Chicken release into farm Ceremon
