A representative from Boon Rawd Brewery Brewery Public Company has visited Ratchapruek Farm in Kaeng Krachan District, Patchaburi, and donated 1,300,000 Baht funding to support the work of staff and police in Kaeng Krachan National Park. On 16th January the board manager of Boon Rawd Mr. Santi Bhirombhakdee asked the company’s advisor Mr. Amnart Pankaew to give the money to the former Senator of Phetchaburi Ms. Sumol Sutawiriya and the former Director of Kaeng Krachan National Park Mr. Chaiwat Limlikitakson. The donation will be used as a fund to support the work of staff and police in Kaeng Krachan, especially the help forest protection, including illegal logging and wild animal hunting. Every year, many staff and officers of Kaeng Krachan are reportedly injured by those engaged in illegal hunting or logging. Family members of the staff and officers who were killed then have financial problems.
With concern about decreasing forest areas as well as extinction of wild animals, including elephants, the Boon Rawd Company have made a donation for the third time this year to address these problems. The ceremony of donating the money was made during also a concert by Ad Carabao, Phongthep Kradonchamnan and Phongsit Khamphee. They are very famous Thai artists of songs for life. The musical performance attracted over 10,000 concert goers concerned with the effect of deforestation and illegal activities carried out in the forests of Thailand. The Director of Kaeng Krachan National Park will use the donated money to help the staff and their family, particularly staff who are working inside the forest day and night. These people are really important for forest protection in Kaeng Krachan.
Without them, it would be hardly possible to continue the mission. Ms. Sumul also added that when she was a Senator, she campaigned for the forest protection of Kaeng Krachan. Thanks to hard-working officers, the forest area is being saved. However support from public offices is not enough to help improve the living and improve the economic conditions of those officers. Financial support from the private sector such as the Boon Rawd Public Company will be an additional help to encourage them to work more and for their improved conditions, concluded Ms. Sumol.
