The Hua Hin Mayor Mr. Nopporn Wutthikul said that the Chinese New Year was a traditional festivity for all Chinese around the world. Thailand is also a country where Chinese have been living and working for a long time. In Hua Hin, many Thai-Chinese people still foster this tradition, and the Chinese New Year means the beginning of good luck, jubilation and celebration for them.
To promote and preserve good tradition of Chinese people in Hua Hin, the Hua Hin Municipality willing to organize a Chinese New Year celebration on 9 February 2013 at Phon Kingphet Memorial Park. At the event, all Chinese people will gather together and meet each other to strengthen their relations and friendship. Apart from music performances and other festive activities, there will be a big parade and a show of gold dragons and silver and gold lions–the animals believed by Chinese to bring them good luck and prosperity.
