On the morning of the 9th of April 2019 the police station of Thap-Sakea was informed of a fatal car accident within the Hua-Yang area. Police officers rushed to the incident to get hold of the situation as soon as possible. Arriving at the scene the officers found a bronze colour Nissan Van absolutely demolished. There had been three deaths who were Thai monks and another 4 citizens that were in serious condition.
The incident was critical; with some people being powerfully ejected out of the van. Officers and the rescue team worked quickly to urgently send the victims to Thap-Sakae Hospital. Mr. Apirak Maulanont, age 65, was the driver and give evidence that they had traveled from Phitsanulok Province to make merit at Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahawihan in Nakhonsithammarat Province.
They departed early in the morning and as he drove he dozed off during his drive causing the car to lose control and smash into a tree; but because of the high speed, it caused a devastating accident that lead to the loss of lives.
