Last month we had the pleasure of accompanying Jungle Aid, a local charity providing Karen villagers with much needed assistance. The Jungle Aid motto; ‘For a Brighter Future’ really sums up what is being achieved through the hands on practical approach of this fantastic organisation. After reading this month’s feature, you may be prompted towards volunteering with mission.
However the head of the Jungle Aid Board of Management, Emma Neve, is also the founder of the BECC School so we couldn’t resist the opportunity to spend some time with her to find out what is behind her drive and enthusiasm; she is one of those people who really make a difference in the Hua Hin community. Jungle Aid was a recent beneficiary of the Centara World Masters Golf Championship with the 700 golfers contributing over 100,000 THB to the cause; we’d like to pass on Emma’s thanks to those generous golfers. We know it will go to those who need it the most!
Emma is also busy preparing for the next Queen’s Cup Triathlon, check out the details on Page 7; then you can register and see her in action on 16th August. We’ve already seen some precipitation as the wet season approaches and relief from the heat is at hand. Maybe that’s not always good news for golfers however there are ways to manage rain on the golf course, check out our golfing page to find out how. For the US citizens out there we hope the big day on 4th July gives you the opportunity to renew your patriotic sentiments, but let’s not forget near neighbours in Canada as July 1st is Canada Day.
