9 April 2019, Mr. Montri Chupu, Deputy Mayor of Hua Hin along with the Legal Officer Technical and Planning Division, visited 9 gold shops in the Hua Hin area. Legal officers went in during working hours to check the accuracy of the purchase-selling price, that must be clarified, and also to checked for clear and visable information regarding the gold purity its weight.
The visits to these shops was to also inquire about buying and selling of gold during the first quarter of 2019, as the is a question if the current economic problems are causing a decrease in the purchase of gold or not? As well, these visits are to insure that every gold shop is following the laws and regulations regarding the purchase of gold.
The Hua Hin Municipality are planning to operate legal checks every year to maintain the world standards for selling gold ensuring that all gold shops are not taking advantage of their consumers.
