The Mayor of Hua Hin Mr. Jira Pongpaiboon has been recently awarded the Best Provincial Contributor by the Minister of Culture. Mrs. Sukumol Kunplome. The awarding ceremony, attended by municipal executives, chiefs of governmental offices and school directors from Hua Hin, took place at the Royal River hotel, Bangkok.
Mrs. Sukumol added. That the Ministry of Culture and the Provincial Culture Office select the Best Contributor every year with major consideration on persons who successfully play key roles in cultural, religious and art preservation and promotion during the current globalization era. In the national fiscal year of 2011, the prestigious award was given to the Hua Hin Mayor whose contribution greatly brings about mobilization traditional Thai art and culture in Hua Hin.
Mr. Jira said that he was honored for the award and was glad that the Hua Hin Municipality, among 71 nominee organizations, was also selected for the best organization on religious, cultural and art promotion. The municipality is recognized by people cooperation on traditional Thai culture preservation during the traditional boat procession, the merit making ceremony for sea spirits and the merit making ceremony at the Hua Hin god and goddess shrine.
The Hua Hin Mayor also thanked of concerned private and governmental agencies because, without them, all activities in the city were not possible and successful.
