Songkran Day “or” Songkran Tradition “is the Thai New Year’sDay celebration, which is generally held between 13 – 15 April,corresponding to the fifth lunar month. Most of the activitiesfor people during the Songkran festival are cleaning houses,making merit, sprinkling water onto a Buddha image, pouringwater on the hand of revered elders and asking for blessings,and the always anticipated water splashing fight.Hua Hin Municipality has organised Songkran festivalsevery year with the goal to continue to preserve the goodculture of Thailand and continue to promote tourism invitingforeigners to join the local and traditional activities. This year,the Songkran festival will be held on 12 – 13 April at PoneKingpetch Park.
