Loy Krathong 2014 will be on 6th November 2014 at Phon Kingphet Memorial Park and Khao Tao Reservoir, with a concerted effort from many organisers in Hua Hin. The Hua Hin Municipality launched a meeting Chaired by the deputy mayors of Hua Hin Ms. Bussaba Choksuchart and Mr. Montree Chuphu. The meeting was attended the director of the Municipality’s education division Mr. Sommai Suksai, along with chief officers and representatives of public and private organisations as well as local community organisations.
Past activities of the festival from previous years were discussed and it was resolved to organise two major activities this year. The first activity features a contest for the most beautiful Krathong made from natural and environtally-friendly materials. This will be from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Phon Kingphet Memorial Park and will coincide with processions of sumptuously decorated Krathong made by public and private companies. The processions will start from the meteorological office on Phetchakasem Road to Phon Kingphet Memorial Park.
The second activity will be at Khao Tao Reservoir as a tourism promotion. Entitled, ‘Admiring the Full Moon and Enjoying Temple Fair at Khao Tao Reservoir’, it offers entertaining performances including classical Thai dancing and concerts from popular Thai singers. Detailed information about these activities will soon be announced.
