Hua Hin Retro Festival to Coincide with Red Cross Fairs 2010 According to the District Chief of Hua Hin Mr. Somchai Bamrungsap, Hua Hin is a district of Thailand where many events take place all year round. One of them – The Red Cross Fair – held annually by the Hua Hin Red Cross Sub-Center is the most awaited event among tourists because it includes charity activities and entertainment. In this year, the Red Cross Fair 2010 will coincide with the Hua Hin Retro Festival from 28 April to 9 May at the 19-Rai Queen Sirikit Memorial Park. With the objective to promote tourism and local culture and boost local business in Hua Hin, both the events exhibit governmental and private organizations, selling of OTOP (One Tambon One Product) goods and local products. In addition, performances by Thai singers and youths as well as a beauty pageant competition and a ballroom dancing contest. The opening ceremony of the events include a procession to celebrate the royal wedding anniversary of The Majesties. The Hua Hin Red Cross Sub-Center is mainly responsible for giving assistance to the disadvantages and relief for those affected by natural disasters. It will also represent the Red Cross Center in promoting boy scouts and girl guides in Thailand as well as a campaign on eye donation. Organizing both the Red Cross Fairs and the Hua Hin Retro Festival is beneficial because the two events will promote tourism in Hua Hin, one of the most beautiful beachfront cities of Thailand, while supporting the charity work of the Red Cross Sub-Center.
