Dr. Supranee Kwanboonchan as President of the Thailand Korfball Association has korfball equipment to Mr Nopporn Wutthikul, Mayor of Hua Hin and Mr. Chanut Pongtarathic Vice President of Hua Hin/Cha-Am Tourism Association. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was also signed for mutual cooperation with academic research and sports between Thailand Korfball Association and Hua Hin/Cha-Am Tourism Association. The event included a demonstration of the sport at witnessed by municipal officials, Mr. Amornthep Aumpeepun General Manager of Market Village Shopping Mall and many other guests.

The aim is to provide an opportunity for the youth of Hua Hin to play this sport and to create opportunities for Thai youth to play at an international level. Korfball is a ball sport, with similarities to netball and basketball. It is played by two teams of eight players with four females and four males in each team.

The objective is to throw a ball into a basket that is mounted on a 3.5 m (11.5 feet) high pole. The sport was invented by Dutch school teacher Nico Broekhuysen in 1902. In the Netherlands, there are around 569 clubs and over 100,000 people playing korfball. The sport is also very popular in Belgium and Taiwan, and is played in many other countries.
