The Hua Hin Municipality joined hands with the Prachuab Khirikhan Police Commanding Division, the Hua Hin Municipal Council and the OPT Motorsport Co. Ltd. to launch a Jazz music festival and Automobile show in Hua Hin this upcoming cold season.
The one of a kind event will take place from the 3rd to the 5th of December this year. According to the Deputy Mayor of Hua Hin, Khun Suvit. It provides inspiring and exciting entertainments of European and American standards with a lot of big Jazz bands and Orchestras performing together with the Motor show. A big exhibition on His Majesty’s the King initiative will be organized there as well to celebrate his 84th birthday anniversary.
One of the highlights is a parade of six ‘Formula One’ cars on the Petchakasem Road. All of the cars belong to Mr. Chalerm Yuwitthaya from the Red Bull Company. Both Thai and foreign visitors will have a chance to admire the beautiful cars the same as on Rajadamnern Avenue in Bangkok. Music lovers can indulge in Jazz music on stage with large monitors there and along intersections in Hua Hin and other tourist attractions in town.
They can sit on a big stand to enjoy the open air musical performance, too. “So far, this event will be the biggest national event in Hua Hin because its investment is nearly ten million Baht. It’ll be broadcasted worldwide to promote tourism in Hua Hin and Thailand during the upcoming new year,” said Mr. Suwit. “We expect over 100,000 visitors for the festival.”
Mr. Suwit added that the venue for this event was still a problem as the town center had to be used for the stage of performance and exhibition. Besides, some of the roads on Petchakasem would have to be closed for the car parade. The Hua Hin Municipality and the Prachuab Khirikhan Police Commanding Division have already asked the OPT to consider how much space is needed for the event. Now, the area at the Intercontinental Hotel adjacent to Petchkasem Road, the Centennial Park in Hua Hin, the Somdej Phra Suriyothai military base and the Hua Hin International Airport are provided for the event. Any other areas may be used more events unless traffic in the city is affected.
