

The State Railway of Thailand announced today that the first lady train service will be introduced on August 1st. The lady train which provides service for only women and children will be on service on three main routes. It said special carriage will be a second class air-conditioned car and secondclass sleeping car on three routes – north, northeast and south. Boys under 10 years old and no taller than 150 centimetres can also travel on these carriages.
The special service is introduced on special express trains on Bangkok – Chiang Mai – Bangkok route in the North, Bangkok – Ubon Ratchathani – Bangkok route, and Bangkok – Nong Khai – Bangkok route in the Northeast, and Bangkok – Sungai Kolok – Bangkok route in the South. The service is introduced to safeguard the safety and convenience of female passengers.
