Bluport Hua Hin shopping centre proudly presents a major event, the ‘Legend Fighting Championship 2024: The Underdog Championship,’ with prize money exceeding 100,000 baht
In collaboration with the Sports Authority of Thailand and Thai Life Insurance Public Company Limited, Bluport Hua Hin and The Legend Arena are bringing back the exciting Legend Fighting Championship 2024. This event promises to thrill boxing fans once again, featuring reality TV coverage that follows the journey of Thai boxers as they face a series of challenges on their path to becoming champions. Known as Reality The Legend: The Underdog Championship, this is the only event of its kind in Thailand, offering boxers who have never won a title the chance to fight for glory.
The Legend Fighting Championship: The Underdog Championship provides a platform for these ‘overlooked fighters’ to make a name for themselves. Sixteen selected boxers will face unexpected trials as they compete in a tournament designed to promote Muay Thai as a symbol of Thailand’s cultural influence, with support from the Sports Authority of Thailand, and to bring the sport to a global audience.
Ms. Wajee Klomkliang, Executive Director of Hua Hin Asset Co., Ltd., stated, “This event aims to give Thai and international Muay Thai athletes training in Thailand the opportunity to further their careers and compete on the global stage. It also seeks to enhance the standards and structure of Muay Thai competitions and activities in line with the Muay Thai Act of 1999, through collaboration with sports professionals. Our goal is to promote Muay Thai as a professional sport that contributes economic value and fosters the growth of the sports industry internationally. Bluport Hua Hin and The Legend Arena have already hosted nine successful competitions, all of which were well-received by sports fans across the country. We also view the Legend Fighting Championship 2024 as a way to boost Hua Hin’s reputation as a sports tourism destination, by creating activities that blend sport and tourism. This will increase awareness of sports tourism by highlighting Hua Hin’s attractions, culture, and lifestyle, encouraging more visitors to explore this unique form of tourism. Ultimately, this will build confidence in Thailand’s image and establish Hua Hin as a premier sports tourism destination.”
View Yaowapha Buraphonchai, promoter of Legend FC, added, “This competition will stand out from previous events by incorporating entertainment to make it even more captivating. The reality show will give fighters who have never won a championship the chance to fight for a title again. This time, we’ve selected 16 fighters through a rigorous process, promising fans an exhilarating display of both traditional Muay Thai and the unique Muay Thai rope-binding techniques. We are confident this event will be packed with intense displays of Muay Thai skills and artistry. We invite everyone to join us for the competition at Bluport Hall, 1st floor, Bluport Hua Hin, on October 19th. We guarantee Muay Thai fans won’t be disappointed.”
The Legend Fighting Championship 2024: The Underdog Championship features both traditional Muay Thai and Muay Thai with rope-binding techniques. The competition is open to Thai and international fighters in the lightweight division (61.3 kg), with a selection process to determine the final 16 contestants. The winner will advance to the final round in December 2024. The event will be broadcast live on Amarin TV throughout Thailand, with global streaming available via Facebook and YouTube.
