Since most Thai people own a mobile phone, SMS is an effective way to send news and updates to several people very quickly and conveniently. The Cha-Am Municipality, realizing how useful the SMS is for the modern world, will use it to send updates on municipal activities and emergency, particularly natural disaster, accidents, infrastructure problems, to the mobile phone of local people so that they will prepare for what is going to happen. Those interested in this free service can apply for it at the Department of Academic and Planning. They can also fill in the application form available at the Information Center of the Cha-Am Municipality, or ask for the form from the community leader. The service will begin in the upcoming June. Local people of Cha-Am are invited to use the SMS update, concluded the Cha-Am Mayor.
