The Suan Dusit Rajabhat University (Hua Hin Campus) has recently launched the 3rd Thai-Chinese exchange program to strengthen educational relation between Thailand and China, promote use of Thai and Chinese and knowledge on culture of the two nations.
According to the Director of the Suan Dusit Rachabhat University (Hua Hin Campus) Dr. Suraphol Siriset, the University welcomed Chinese 20 students from the Kui Lin University on Tourism in Quang Xi, China, in August. The students will stay here for one year and learn how to speak and teach Thai while acculturate themselves with 20 Thai students. In return, the Chinese students will teach their language to the Thai ones.
The University also plans to send the Chinese students for an internship at hotels or tourist centers or governmental offices after they study here for 6 or 8 months. The Chinese intern-students will gain knowledge on hotel business, daily communication in Thai as well as Chinese interpretation for Chinese tourists. Business owners who would like them to take an internship for their company can contact the University directly because there are 90 Chinese students available for the internship at present.
The Suan Dusit Rajabhat University (Hua Hin Campus) and the one in Bangkok have signed a contract with many prestigious universities in China, many of which provide high quality teaching and researching. The Kui Lin University on Tourism in Quang Xi, which is now joining the current exchange program, has lately sent its students to the Hua Hin Campus.
The Director of the Suan Dusit Rachabhat University (Hua Hin Campus) added that both the university executives of Thailand and China were glad and proud to take part in the project despite different political administration in the two countries. They viewed that Chinese studies on language and culture would in the near future become as crucial as knowledge of English. Graduates who possess both of the knowledge will be effective human resources of high quality whose contribution to national development is invaluable.
Having been launched for almost 10 years, the Thai-Chinese exchange program enjoys great success as Thai students who studied in China got a good job in Thailand and the Chinese ones gained a lot of knowledge on Thai language and culture. So, to continue the project, Thailand and China will send their students 3 times a year. On 23 September, 90 Thai students from the Suan Dusit Rachabhat University (Hua Hin Campus) will go to Kui Lin and U-Chow for 2-month and 1-year courses. In February, 2012, more Thai students will be sent to Chinese universities again.
Interested students who would like to join the exchange program can ask for more information from lecturers at the Suan Dusit Rachabhat University (Hua Hin Campus).
