

The Prachuab Khirikhan Provincial Office has opened a Thai-Burmese fair to promote friendship and commercial relation between local people of the two countries.
The opening ceremony, chaired by the Prachuab Khirikhan Governor Mr. Weera Sriwattanatrakul, was attended by the Chief District Officer of Mu Dong District, Myanmar, Mr. U Sowin, along with other Thai and Burmese officials and was organised by the District Officer of Prachuab Khirikhan Mr. Somporn Patchimpetch. The major purpose of the Thai-Burmese fair is to enable local people from the two countries to sell their products and also to promote tourism along the border of Thailand and Myanmar.
Located at the Singkhon checkpoint in Prachuab Khirikhan, this newly opened Thai-Burmese fair also symbolises commercial modernisation of Thailand and Myanmar and how may prepare themselves for changes occurring in the future. The Prachuab Khirikhan Provincial Office is also carrying out zoning, formulating regulations and preparing infrastructure to facilitate business activities taking place. There is a strategic plan that highlights the identities of Thailand and Myanmar.
The two countries have a friendship has stood the test of time. At the fair visitors can buy local products of a high standard at reasonable prices. This is now a tourist attraction where visitors can experience local lifestyles and traditions when doing shopping. The fair is open only on Saturday and Sunday.
